Quick And Easy Way To Home Package Cookies With These 8 Yummy Creative Ideas

!±8± Quick And Easy Way To Home Package Cookies With These 8 Yummy Creative Ideas

You've spent the time and effort to bake your delicious homemade cookie gifts, now it's time to package them!

Don't spoil all your hard work with boring cookie boxes and packaging ideas.

You want cookie gifts that say "Yummy!" - Perception is everything!

First impressions are truly important. So it's unavoidable that you make a little effort to package your home-baked treats.

But where do you start? Here it is...

Theme:

Think about what the theme is for your cookie gift packages. For example, it is a birthday gift or for Christmas holiday giving? Perhaps it's for your Valentine? Use the theme on your packaging.

Ingredients:

What are the main flavors or the cookie ingredients you used? Apply this element to help enhance the aroma that you may want to portray on your cookie boxes or packages.

Protection:

Are your cookies fragile? Or do they need to be air-tight and stored in the fridge? Consider using for example, zip seal bags, if necessary.

Hygiene:

Always clean any used containers (or even store-bought new boxes) and dry before using.

When decorating your packages, be sure to use food safe items. Eg. Don't use glues where cookies may be in contact. Consider the point that your cookie gift recipient may not always be as careful as you when replacing cookies back into containers. Think from their viewpoint and see whether there is an alternative method for better hygiene.

With that said and done, here are your "8 Yummy Creative Package Ideas":

HOME-BAKED COOKIE PACKAGING IDEA 1:

"The Coffee Cup"

You may have seen a similar idea before, using a mug or coffee cup, but this is really a brilliant idea as people associate coffee cups with aroma.

Whether it be coffee or tea, this idea spells: 'Good times with a friend over a cup of coffee/tea and some sweets!'

- Pre-pack about 2 - 4 cookies in cellophane or sealed bag and place inside cup.
- Embellish with a gift tag and fabric ribbon around cellophane. (You can also write a message or recipient name on the mug).

HOME-BAKED COOKIE PACKAGING IDEA 2:

"Milk Carton"

This is perfect for butter cookies or packaging cookies for children. Either way, the milk carton makes a great packaging box.

- Wash and dry container before use. Carefully open the top without tearing the cardboard.

- Place cookies inside.

- Seal top with staples or strong sticky-tape. (Do not use glues as they are unhygienic and not re-openable.

- Decorate exterior with wrapping paper or fabric and ribbon.

If you are computer savvy, you could create a milk carton label with recipient name, theme graphics and colors to print and apply to your cookie carton!

Use one litre carton for giving to an entire family or a smaller carton for children or single recipients.

This is a great container for refrigerating your cookies also. Plus, the benefit is that the design of the carton semi-closes on its own with the folding techniques incorporated.

HOME-BAKED COOKIE PACKAGING IDEA 3:

"Peanut Butter Bottle"

Great for peanut butter cookies! The theme, feeling and association is already there! And you don't even need to worry about pealing the bottle stickers off. Use it instead to create a quirky cookie packaging.

Use a square piece of fabric almost twice as large as the lid size and cover cookies before closing with the lid to create instant effective packaging.

Create a label digitally and print out for a dynamic gift. You don't have to cover the entire glass or bottle, leave a bit of room so they can take a peek at the yummy cookies you baked.

HOME-BAKED COOKIE PACKAGING IDEA 4:

"Butter or Margarine Containers"

Unusual but very effective and fun. What's more, it has a lid and is lightweight for posting your cookies. Just keep in mind that most butter containers aren't air-tight.

You can decorate the exterior by creating your own labels, or sticking appropriate wrapping paper over. I recommend a food style, earthy tones and colors for this method.

Lastly, tie a ribbon around the package like you would a gift box. Large wide ribbons would give you a dazzling package.

Great for milk and butter cookies.

HOME-BAKED COOKIE PACKAGING IDEA 5:

"Milo or Food Tins (with lid)"

Tins come in all different sizes and are great for air-tight cookie storing. And you won't have to pre-package your cookies in bags first.

Ideal for cookies that do not need to be refrigerated.

Also makes a great cookie gifting idea for boys or men.

You can even etch in writing or graphics onto the tin if you have the proper tools and use correct safety precautions.

HOME-BAKED COOKIE PACKAGING IDEA 6:

"Candy or Chocolate Boxes"

Candies and cookies go hand in hand! These are little treats that the whole world love!

- Place your cookies lying flat into the box. You may need to take out the pre-made mould shapes used and use cardboard dividers to separate your cookies.
- Simply tie with ribbon and gift tag the package!

HOME-BAKED COOKIE PACKAGING IDEA 7:

"Cocktail or Martini Glass"

Great for alcohol-based cookies like rum balls during Christmas season!

- Place one cookie or two in cellophane, seal and place inside glass.
- Seal glass with clear food wrapping. Add ribbon and gift tag on glass stalk.

HOME-BAKED COOKIE PACKAGING IDEA 8:

"Tea Box"

Use small aroma infusion tea packaging boxes - usually ones that have only 10 tea-bags in each box. You can pack 2 to 3 cookies in each box and give more than one tea box for fun.

- Seal cookies with cellophane or food bag first and place inside decorated tea boxes.

Why not leave one tea bag in front of your cookies? It's a perfect invitation to a relaxing snack with a drink.

If you do not have any of these containers handy, you can easily buy them and transfer contents to other containers. Just make sure that it's well washed and that most of the original scents are gone (except in the case such as the peanut butter bottles).

Not only are these 8 Yummy Ideas creative and fun, they also bring out the aroma of your delicious homemade cookies.

Start using these mouth-watering cookie packaging ideas. It's a sure way that your cookies will be eaten instantly!

Mylar bags combined with oxygen absorbers stored in a rigid container have been shown to be the ideal way to store dehydrated goods for long-term storage. Mylar bags protect your food investment from the effects of oxygen, moisture contamination, and light penetration. Important Note: These ziplock mylar bags are a minimum of 5.0 mils thick (compare to other manufacturers at 3.5-4.3mils), for better long-term storage of dehydrated foods with an FDA approved sealant layer. Our mylar bags have a complete middle aluminum foil layer (.00035) and are NOT simply metalized polyester that others may offer. If you can see through the bag it is not aluminum foil and the food can be affected by light and oxygen, which are major reasons for using mylar bags. These mylar bags can be heat sealed with a standard clothes iron on a high setting or a hair straightener. Simply add the dehydrated food to the mylar bag, place appropriate number of oxygen absorber on top (600cc-1200cc), push out as much residual air as possible before sealing the bag. All mylar bags should be placed in a rigid container to protect the integrity of the bag as well as to avoid rodents and bug infestation. Unused oxygen absorbers can be resealed in their original bag, placed in a mason jar, or heat sealed in a mylar bag.

  • 250 count 12" x 16" x 6" (1.5 Gallon) 5.0 mil Thick Ziplock Mylar Bag
  • Industry standard setting 5 mil thick material - Don't settle for less for your food investment
  • Can seal with a standard clothes iron or hair straightener - Can be resealed on any part of the bag
  • Light, Moisture, Oxygen Barrier, and Puncture Resistant - use 600cc to 1200cc total oxygen absorbers
  • Ideal for long-term food storage of dehydrated grains and foods - Heat seal for long-term storage

Top Ten Baby Changing Bag Essentials

!±8± Top Ten Baby Changing Bag Essentials

When you leave the house with a baby you should be prepared for all eventualities. They could get hungry, hot, dirty or dare I say it - bored. But if you take everything with you that you think you might need you can often end up with a bag so heavy you can't carry the baby as well.

So for those parents whose baby changing bag resembles a suitcase or those who have been caught out on too many occasions, here is my top ten list of baby essentials.

Nappies. As a rough guide work on one nappy for every couple of hours you plan to be out and then add another one just in case of a major poo incident. Wipes. As a parent to teenagers I'll bet you will still have a packet of wipes to hand. For wiping bottoms, faces, hands, restaurant high chairs, swings at the park. Muslin. These can be used as a burp cloth, fashioned into a bib, an emergency nappy, modesty cover if breastfeeding or a light weight blanket. Bottles. If you aren't breastfeeding you will need bottles of cooled boiled water and formula which can be mixed as needed. Make sure you have enough bottles for the time you plan to be out. You could also carry a ready mix carton of baby formula for convenience. Change of clothes. If there is an accident involving poo or sick then you will need a change of clothes for the baby. I always take an all-in-one because it is convenient and takes up less space than carrying a vest, trousers, t-shirt, socks etc. A spare plastic bag to keep dirty clothes in is also a good idea! First Aid Kit. There are pre-packed first aid kits available especially for children but you can always make up your own. It should include anticeptic wipes, plasters, infant paracetamol, burnease, antihistamine, teething gel, nappy rash cream etc. Antibacterial hand gel. When you can't get to a sink. Toys. Something to use to keep a baby from getting bored is essential. From a favourite soft toy to a book or crayons, keep something in the bag to distract them. Snacks. If your child has been weaned, a little pack of snacks is very useful. Raisins, bread sticks, rice cakes can be kept in a small tub or zip lock bag. Sunscreen. Even on an overcast day in summer a baby can get sunburnt so always use sunscreen and reapply regularly.

If you have extra room in your bag you could always put in a few other optional extras such as a camera to capture those special moments, extra layers in case it get chilly or a travel high chair or baby carrier.

Betty's Country Chicken-Fried Beef Steak Recipe

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make her homey, comforting Country Chicken-Fried Steak. With a tasty coating and cooked to perfection, It is an entree you can be proud to serve at any meal! Ingredients: 1 pound beef steak (I used top round steak, cut into 4 equally -sized pieces.) 1/4 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 egg, well beaten 2 tablespoons milk 1 cup saltine cracker crumbs (very fine) 6 tablespoons cooking oil (I used peanut oil.) Combine 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper in a gallon-sized zip-lock plastic bag, and set aside. Combine 1 well-beaten egg with 2 tablespoons milk, and set aside. Place 1 inner packet of saltine crackers in a gallon-sized zip-lock bag, and roll with a rolling pin until *very* fine. Now, heat 6 tablespoons of cooking oil in an iron or oven-proof skillet. Coat your steak pieces as follows: dredge each piece in the flour mixture, by placing the steak in the plastic bag and shaking it until the entire steak is coated. now dip it into the egg mixture, and finally into the finely ground cracker crumbs. Place in hot oil, one piece at a time. Turn the pieces as they turn brown and crusty. When all pieces are turned, place the skillet in a 375-degree oven and bake for about 20 minutes. You will probably need to turn them once. Remove from the oven and transfer to a tray with paper toweling to drain the excess oil. Place on a nice serving dish, along with a meat fork. This is a ...

Cello Bags Vs Polyethylene Bags

!±8± Cello Bags Vs Polyethylene Bags

Cello bags and polyethylene bags are extremely popular today. The tricky part is that many people do not know the difference between them. It is not uncommon to see or hear people referring to cellophane as polyethylene, and vice versa. This educational article is meant to eliminate the confusion between these two once and for all, as well as to help you choose one for your current needs (marketing, gifts, etc.).

Cellophane

Cellophane is a transparent grease-resistant and moisture-resistant film produced from viscose. It was invented by a Swiss textile engineer in 1911. In 1913, France began to manufacture it on a large scale. It became the first moisture-resistant and flexible packaging in the world. However, after the invention of polyethylene in the 1950s, cellophane started to be replaced by this new material.

Cello bags are typically used for foods (meats, cheeses, candy, cookies, etc.), as well as for small gifts and cards (greeting cards, florist cards). Cello packs are often used to wrap gifts for parties and holidays (birthday, wedding, Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, etc.). They can be clear or colored, as well as preprinted or custom printed. They can be flat or gusseted, as well as square or cone-shaped. You can even find biodegradable cello packaging.

Polyethylene

Polyethylene (polythene) is a plastic made by polymerization of ethylene. Today, this plastic is the most manufactured plastic in the world. This material can look transparent or white (depending on its density). It is much more durable and resistant to elements than cellophane. It is used in bulletproof vests, boats, ATVs, and cartilage replacements in medicine. Polyethylene was invented in 1899 by a German engineer, but it stayed in oblivion until 1933. By the 1950s, it became the most popular material for packaging and started to replace the less durable cello bags.

Polyethylene is separated into 3 types: HDPE (High Density Polythene), MDPE (Medium Density Polythene), and LDPE (Low Density Polythene). The HDPE is used for durable bags with regular or reinforced patch handles or loop handles. The LDPE is used for lightweight T-shirt bags. These are more capacious; besides, they are the most affordable type of packaging.

Custom Printed Cellophane and Polyethylene

Both types of materials (cellophane and polyethylene) can be custom printed in full color. They can be used for placing text or graphics onto them, such as for marketing and gifts. Cellophane packs are commonly used for gifts, while polyethylene packs are more often used for marketing. Cello bags are used to carry gift cards with flowers, as well as gifts for birthdays, weddings, Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, and other events. Polythene bags are used for product sales, as well as to distribute printed materials at presentations and exhibitions.

Both types of bags are one of the most versatile, compact and cost-effective mediums for advertising or personalized gifts. Any of these two types of personalized packaging will be long remembered and create a favorable impression on the receiver. We hope that we have eliminated the confusion between the two, and that now you know which type of them is best for your current needs.
